Diego Jonathan
Born and raised in Tenerife, Jonathan is the son of Diego. He inherited his father's connection to nature, patience, and the strength to bring this historic cave back to life. Jonathan painstakingly renovated every corner by hand, restoring the cave to its original structure and adding modern amenities.
He is also the one who guarantees the maintenance, safety and proper functioning of all the cave's systems (water, lighting, generator, etc.).
Ingrid
Brazilian-Norwegian, passionate about warm spaces and aesthetics. Ingrid is the heart of the visitors experience. She speaks English, Norwegian, Portuguese, and Spanish, and ensures that every person who arrives at the cave feels cared for, welcome, and at home.
Their mission is to create unique environments, where every element has a purpose: for you to rest, be inspired and experience something unforgettable.
Our story
IJ Experience was born from a unique blend of family history, a deep passion for nature, and the heartfelt desire to create a space where people can disconnect and live authentic moments.
Our cave was carved more than 45 years ago by Diego, Jonathan’s father, who shaped with his own hands what we now call our refuge. Inspired by the ancestral wisdom of the Guanches —the ancient inhabitants of Tenerife— Diego preserved a millenary tradition: living in harmony with the earth, the volcanic rock, and the sea.
What began as a family shelter gradually became a symbol of connection, calm, and simplicity.
